The Ad Lib Collective is a group of performers, composers and creators focused on connecting with audiences through chamber performance, concert curation, community engagement and the creation of new works. Directed by percussionist Thea Rossen, the Collective’s projects are influenced by classical and contemporary music and regularly feature cross genre collaboration. With residencies at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada and the Castlemaine Festival in Australia, Ad Lib have presented Music for Our Changing Climate at the Metropolis Festival, The Water Concerto at the Holmes a Court Gallery, run regional and metropolitan outreach workshops for major arts institutions in Victoria and curated a series of performances at the Melbourne Recital Centre in 2018. Ad Lib was the recipient of New Ideas Lab funding to develop Drip Drop Play at Art Play in 2018, a new show featuring an immersive experience for children with water and ice, and recently released Flashed Glass, a cross genre collaborative album with electronic music artists Sleep D presented by Play On Music.
